According to Vedic Astrology, Nakshatra refers to the stars/constellations.
There are a total of 27 Nakshatras, and hence the value of each star is 13⁰ 20’.
Each Nakshatra has four padas and four sounds and each pada is equal in width.
All nine planets have got lordships of three constellations or nakshatras each.
The other way round these twelve signs are further subdivided into twenty-seven nakshatras, each sign is equal to two and a quarter of nakshatra.
Role of Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology
